Job Description


The Maintenance Supervisor will direct and supervise the maintenance crew to ensure the safe and cost effective operation of our Pipeline division in compliance with contracts, regulations, training and safety. Responsibilities include developing a well-rounded workforce to reduce contract labor expenses, ensure efficient maintenance service for all maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs. Identifies performance deficiencies/potential improvements and takes appropriate action. Supports special projects for other departments and divisions. Participate in emergency response contingency plans.

Job Tasks:

* Supervises direct reports to assure maintenance routine work list is developed for review, facilitates work list review meetings, updates and communicates work list, publishes and issues final work list to all parties including contractors. Work list includes regulatory as well as business critical work
* Supervises direct reports on process for ordering all general maintenance materials, Reviews and approves the purchase of expense related materials
* Coordinates and schedules activities with operators, maintenance, contractors, and other planners. Communicates and reviews schedules with management, ensures progression of schedule during execution, and reports progress to management.
* Plans and coordinates maintenance activities including the scheduling of manpower, equipment, and materials. Maintains good interdepartmental communication.
* Analyzes overall maintenance performance and recommends strategic and tactical changes to achieve business objectives.
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.


* Associates Degree and 4+ year's supervisor experience in the Pipeline Industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Thorough knowledge of a technical field, such as maintenance or inspection in order to analyze, interpret, and apply information.
* Strong written and oral communication skills needed to interact effectively with facility personnel and regulatory agencies.

* Proficient use of computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
* Ability to provide direction by giving the contact specific instructions regarding future activities.
* Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis.
* Ability to support other employees by being directly responsible for improving information, services, or support other employees needs to do their jobs.
* Ability to persuade others to a course of action by instructing, convincing, or influencing through professional guidance using logic and example.
* Ability to plan and schedule activities, including regular review and coordination of activities required for implementation.
* Ability to define problems, collect incomplete and difficult to obtain data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to work effectively with periodic guidance and review by upper management. General internal policies, guidelines, and procedures are utilized.
* Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to read reports and use computer.
* Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.
* Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken words.
* Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to stand use hand and/or power tools. Must maintain mobility to perform duties inside and outside of buildings. Major portions of the day may require this activity.
* Must be able to bend, reach, or stoop to obtain office supplies and operate office equipment.
* Moderate physical effort up to 75 pounds.
* Major portions of daily work require application of manual skills involving motor coordination and finger dexterity.
* Must comply with OSHA Respiratory Protection guidelines and the company respiratory protection program which includes a medical evaluation and fit test to determine the ability to wear a respirator. Must be able to don appropriate respiratory equipment to protect the employee whenever respirators are required.

Work Environment:

* Work is typically performed outside, exposure to extreme head and cold, moving mechanical parts, high and unstable places, loud noise, and vibrations.
* Will travel great distances daily
* Light exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and flammable substances.
* Light exposure to electrical shock, bright or dim lighting, wet or humid conditions, and extreme heat (non-weather).



* 5 year's supervisor experience in the Pipeline Industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.


* Advanced knowledge of the operation of pipeline system
* 4 + years supervisor experience in the Pipeline industry
* Advance knowledge of Pipeline regulations including CFR 49 195, API 1104 and ASME B31 and their applicability to the pipeline system

Other Requirements:

* Will be required to work out of town requiring overnight stays
* Maintains a safe driving record and current driver's license.
* This is a safety sensitive position you will be required to pass a DOT Physical and DOT Drug test
* Must have a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record
* Must have ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb height up to 60 feet
