Job Description

Summary:

Perform rebate functions by working with Category Managers on rebate programs. Create rebate rules, accrue, invoice and apply payments in PDI by thoroughly understanding product categories and rebate programs; comply, maintain and update rebate SOPs. Close rebate month-end tasks timely and accurately.

Job Tasks:

* Create rebate rules in PDI by working with category managers and understanding rebate programs and review rebate agreements and contracts.
* Review auto-run rebate accruals, prepare rebate invoices in PDI and send to category managers to review, apply rebate payments in PDI.
* Perform PDI month-end tasks by running and confirming rebate accruals are processed timely.
* Provide unmatched level of customer services to category managers by identifying discrepancies, researching, problem resolution and exchanging of information as needed or requested.
* Comply, maintain and update the rebate accounting SOP's.
* Assist Rebate Accounting Manager in preparation of monthly reports and reconciliation of balance sheets accounts, by compiling pertinent information in a timely and accurate manner.
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills:

* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices in order to analyze, interpret, and apply information.
* Knowledge of department practices and procedures.
* Thorough knowledge of and skill in using computer software, such as MS Word, Excel, and computerized accounting systems.
* Mathematical skill to calculate and interpret data using percentages, ratios, averages, and medians.
* Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer and scanner/copy machine.
* Written communication skill to compose correspondence, report, and proposals.
* Oral communication skill to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to make presentations outside work group.
* Manage and process data for use by self or others using word processing spreadsheets, or graphics software programs.
* Strong interpersonal communication skill to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and arrive at mutual decisions.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, customers, and the general public in a timely manner.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
* Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis.
* Ability to provide support to other employees by being directly responsible for finding out what information, services, or support other employees need to do their job.
* Ability to plan and schedule activities over the course of several months up to one year. Regular review and coordination of activities are required to maintain momentum of the planning process and implementation and to ensure ongoing organizational commitment and implementation.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to work effectively with general supervisory guidance. Operating guidelines, standard procedures, internal policies, guidelines, and procedures are utilized.

Education and Experience:

Associate's Degree and 6-10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Both PDI Rebate Manager knowledge and rebate experience are preferable.
