Job Description

This position is the Retail Marketing liaison to the field. Ensures that the division's marketing initiatives are understood, implemented, and executed. Addresses plans of action for retail stores. Coordinates roll out of new programs and equipment. Works closely with Operations, as well as the Accounting and Construction departments.

Major Job Tasks

* Visits stores on a consistent basis, often with district managers, in order to teach and communicate marketing initiatives and glean pertinent feedback to share with corporate marketing to improve programs and to make them more store friendly.
* Analyzes and brings focus to stores in order to assist field management in developing a plan of action to improve performance and profitability in those stores. Utilizes sales analysis, PDI reports and accounting department information.
* Inspects through field visits and gives feedback to field management on levels of execution of marketing programs in order to maximize sales, gross profit dollars, and customer service. Uses personal experience, knowledge of marketing department initiatives and rationale, as well as feedback from field management to provide insight.
* Coordinates and communicates with field management the rollout and implementation of new programs and equipment that will increase sales and profit. Utilizes information from category managers, maintenance department and suppliers.
* Visits stores, analyzes physical assets and makes recommendations for the store remodels and re-merchandising in order to allow store to be more conducive in improving sales and profits. Utilizes marketing knowledge, PMA reports, supplier information, and communication with service department.

Note: This position will be responsible for the Los Angeles area and Southern California.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Advanced knowledge of C-Store operations in order to develop policy and procedures.
* Knowledge of department practices and procedures.
* Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, such as MS Word and Excel.
* Mathematical skill to calculate and interpret data using percentages, ratios, averages, and medians.
* Skill in operating various office equipment, such as personal computer, calculator, facsimile, and copy machine.
* Written communication skill to compose reports, proposals, presentations, and work-related manuals.
* Oral communication skill to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
* Interpersonal communication skill to negotiate agreements favorable to the Company, reconciling differences to arrives at acceptable solutions.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years related experience as gained from a C-Store environment in purchasing or store management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated success and expertise in a multi-unit C-Store District Manager position with a least one year of experience.
