POSITION OVERVIEW:

The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time opening for a Refinery Product Scheduler, an exempt position that reports to the Economics and Planning Manager.  The Refinery Product Scheduler’s main job duties include managing product movements and scheduling that takes into account refinery operations and marketing demands.  Additionally, this role will provide backup and assistance for the Rail Scheduler position. The work hours are nominally 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime hours as needed. A 9-80 alternate work schedule is available.  This position is also an on-call position that requires communication with the refinery during non-working hours including weekends as necessary.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage product inventories, operating plans, shipping schedules, and rack plans for refinery products other than gasoline
  • Collaborate with the marketing team for buying/selling decisions
  • Communicate frequently with the Rail Coordinator to ensure adequate rail car supply
  • Work with pipeline schedule for pipeline volume planning
  • Develop and effectively communicate production forecast
  • Work with corporate marine group on barge scheduling
  • Backfill for rail scheduling role as necessary
  • Partner with the Blending Area Team and Tank Repair Coordinator
  • Manage Management of Change (MOC) process for tank change of services
  • Identify and develop opportunities for increased flexibility or cost savings
  • Continuous tool improvement in business tools to continue to increase efficiency and effectiveness of scheduling operations

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college with 3-5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent of 10 years commensurate work experience in refining or petrochemicals
  • Prior Technical Experience and/or Oil Movements Experience
  • Proficient with a wide range of computer software, including Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communicator and facilitator
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and capability to work multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
