Job Description

Summary:

Loads and delivers petroleum products via tanker trucks to Western customers in a professional, courteous, and safe manner. Knowledge of Hours of Service, pickup and delivery automated systems. Completes appropriate paperwork accurately and timely. Places special emphasis on supporting the following core values: Unmatched excellence in customer service. Safety in all we do. Job Tasks:

* Drives transport truck to and from assigned destinations. Loads and unloads petroleum products from tanker at the assigned destinations safely and effectively. (50%)
* Completes proper written or electronic paperwork in an accurate, timely manner; such as hours of service, freight bills, driver logs, equipment inspection forms, etc. (15%)
* Takes a pro-active role in "Safety in All We Do" by knowing and following all company safety procedures and policies. Attends safety meetings as scheduled. (10%)
* Provides "Unmatched Excellence in Customer Service", both internally and externally, in all aspects of the position's responsibilities, treating each customer as if they are "Number 1". Customer service can have a direct impact on Andeavor's image. (5%).
* Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintains constant visual and audio inspection during handling and transporting of hazardous materials to ensure safe and efficient delivery. (5%)
* Follows environmental procedures and regulatory requirements as determined by company policy, while taking a pro-active role in the prevention of environmental contamination. (5%)
* Identifies and analyzes equipment malfunctions, making minor repairs as needed. Notifies other company personnel when major repairs are required. (5%)
* Follows all company policies and government regulations in the handling and transporting of hazardous materials. (5%)
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

* Thorough knowledge of motor vehicle codes and regulations.
* Thorough knowledge of department practices and procedures.
* Thorough knowledge of safety policies, practices, and procedures.
* Mathematical skill to count, copy, and record figures.
* Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Microsoft Outlook. Additionally satellite communication systems for hours of service compliance and to expedite billing.
* Skill in operating various hand tools, such as wrench and screwdriver.
* Written communication skill to fill out routine forms and records.
* Oral communication skills to give, receive, or exchange information with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
* Interpersonal communication skill to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and complete assigned tasks.
* Ability to follow all motor vehicle rules and regulations involved in the safe operation of two-axle trucks.
* Ability to read and understand written instructions, memos, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to follow specific, step-by-step instructions, standard procedures, and operating guidelines.
* Ability to identify routine problems and situations that require a decision.
* Ability to respond appropriately in the event of a product spill or vehicle accident.
* Ability to provide a high level of customer service to employees by responding to requests in a courteous manner and on a timely basis.
* Ability to work effectively with close and/or general supervisory guidance.
* Thorough knowledge of hazardous material emergency response procedure.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Must meet company insurability requirements.

Physical Requirements:

* Seeing: Must be able to see to drive truck.
* Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers and customers.
* Talking: Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken words.
* Sitting: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
* Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to maintain mobility and stand to load and off-load product.
* Bending/Reaching/Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to bend, reach, or stoop to load and off-load product, maintain the truck, and enter the cab. Must be able to climb steep stairs on tanks to measure, sample, and test product.
* Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Heavy physical effort up to 75 pounds.
* Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Major portions of daily work require application of manual skills involving motor coordination and finger dexterity.

Work Environment:

* Work is typically performed outside a regular office setting on roads and highways.
* Moderate exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and minimal exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
* Major exposure to extreme heat and cold, high and unstable places, and moving mechanical parts.
* Moderate exposure to loud noise and bright or dim lighting.
* Heavy exposure to outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to wind, rain, snow and extreme heat or cold.

Education:

* Must have obtained a high school diploma from an accredited institution or an earned GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Must be 21 years of age upon date of application completion process
* Class 'A' CDL with TANKER and HAZMAT endorsements
* Minimum of there 3 years driving experience
* NO more than two moving violations in the past three years
* NO DUI convictions in the past five years

* Completed and signed application; the entire application must be completed and signed. Application must reflect 10 years of work history and apply all gaps in employment with unemployment history, or application will not be reviewed for consideration.
* Signature ONLY on inquiry "Request for Information from previous employer."
Copy of driver's license front and back.

Required Interview Documents:

* An unexpired Class A CDL with TANKER and HAZMAT endorsements
* An Unexpired Medical Card (if expiring within 90 days, you will be asked to renew/update prior to an offer of employment).

* An unexpired Class A CDL with TANKER and HAZMAT endorsements
* An Unexpired Medical Card (if expiring within 90 days, you will be asked to renew/update prior to an offer of employment).
* A negative result Pre-Employment DOT Drug Screen
* Respiratory Fit test and PFT (Crude Drivers Only)
* DOT Verification of employment (last 36 months)
* Driving Record Check
* Background/Criminal history check
* Road Test
* Driver CSA scores
