Position Overview:

The Northern Tier Oil Transport, LLC has a full-time opening for a Crude Oil Hauler located in Williston, North Dakota.  The Crude Oil Hauler will be responsible for loading, delivering, and unloading crude oil across the North Dakota area.  This position works 12-hour work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.


Job Duties:

  • Safely and efficiently drive a tanker truck to transport crude oil between pipeline depots
  • Perform all required readings and measurements before and after the crude oil is loaded
  • Manually load and unload trucks individually 
  • Maintain electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
  • Record accurate volume readings and measurements 
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers and cellular devices to exchange necessary information with dispatch, supervisors, and other drivers
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
  • Maneuver trucks into tight loading or unloading positions, checking that the vehicle/loading equipment are properly positioned. 
  • Utilize Fleet Management and Truck Optimization software 
  • Build professional relationships with customer bases and drivers 
  • Follow, maintain and adhere to all safety rules set forth by the Company, DOT and operating procedures for the loading and unloading facilities

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker and Haz/Mat endorsements
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Excellent driving record 
  • A minimum of 2 years of tank hauling experience 
  • Ability to successfully complete a company approved DOT physical examination and background investigation
  • Quality computer skills 


Desired Qualifications:  

  • Previous experience in crude transportation 
  • 5-10 years of tanker experience 
  • Experience with PeopleNet Fleet Management
  • Ability to properly complete a paper log
