As a professional team member within Supply and Trade Commercial department the Commercial Analyst is responsible for accurately recording, reporting, and validating the activity of the Commercial Department. Areas of responsibility/authority include portfolio/transaction reporting, derivative transaction tracking and reconciliation, portfolio testing/compliance, inventory reporting and hedge recommendations. Works closely with other members of the Supply and Trading department while maintaining independence and objectivity.

Major Job Tasks:

* Prepares reports as required by the VP, Commercial Operations as well as the SVP, Supply and Trading, detailing the Commercial Department's position and the profitability of the portfolios and/or specific transactions.
* Tracks and reconciles all Exchange traded and Over the Counter (OTC) derivative transactions on a daily basis. Generates daily Mark to Market (MTM) P&L's. Reviews all Exchange and OTC margin calls for accuracy and forward to Treasury for payment. Monitors counterparty collateral exposure related to derivatives.
* Compiles daily physical inventory for reporting to Supply and Trading personnel and other company managers and executives.
* Monitors daily the Portfolios for compliance under the limits established by the Commercial Risk Management Policy and immediately report any areas approaching limits and any non-compliance to VP, Commercial Operations.
* Generates a daily hedge recommendation for use by the traders in executing the company's Macro Hedge Program

* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or related field, and 5 -- 7 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience in financial analysis and accounting.
* Must possess a strong knowledge of financial modeling and analysis techniques, financial forecasting as well as trend analysis; have the ability to understand and utilize financial and volumetric assumptions for the use in preparation of financial models.
* Advanced knowledge of and skill in using computer software, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; to include knowledge in accounting and finance and the associated computerized accounting systems.
* Must possess knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and computerized accounting systems.
* Must possess mathematical knowledge and the basic statistical skills in calculating and interpreting data using percentages, ratios, and averages.
* Effective written, oral and interpersonal communications required to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner; and the ability to present to groups/individuals within and outside of the work group.
* Ability to simultaneously coordinate various activities while maintaining a focus to detail.
* Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment; to include the ability to prioritize workload
