Job Description

Western Refining is seeking to hire a professional AP Analyst who is passionate about their job and enjoys working with a high volume full-cycle AP department responsible for processing approximately 15,000 invoices per month.

Daily this position works with the AP manager and other AP analysts to review and track errors for the AP batches that are keyed into the financial system.

Daily work with vendors and other departments to help manage the AP corporate mailbox where vendor invoices, approvals and inquiries are received.

Monthly/Quarterly this position works with the AP team and the Business support team to ensure the correct 1099 setup is entered on the vendor's profile.

Annually this position works with the AP Manager, AP Leads and the IT Department to prepare the1099 forms

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years related experience in high volume AP environment.

Experience with 3-way matching (invoice, purchase order, shipping documents).

General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Experience using computer software to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized accounting systems.

Must have proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.

Experience in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, calculator, and scanner/copy machine.

Above average oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and arrive at mutual decisions.

Ability to read and understand directions, documents, procedure manuals, reports and correspondence.

Ability to pay close attention to detail and common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral and written instructions.

Must have proven ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information and responding to requests on a timely basis in addition to providing support to other employees by providing them accurate information and responding to request on a timely basis.

Must be able to plan and schedule job tasks over the course of a month and be able to identify, define and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Proven ability to work effectively with general supervisory guidance.
